Description |
A large wooden structure used to dry friction matchsticks and a box of matchsticks. The U.S. Safety Match Company operated a factory in Edinboro, circa 1900, on Cove Drive. The red phosphorus heads replaced the more dangerous white heads, thus the word "safety." |
