Description |
A 16 x 11 inch brown ledger containing the names and dates of who stayed at the Edinboro Hotel, August 2, 1916 - August 10, 1933. The Hotel was upstairs in the Drake Building built in 1911 after the 1909 fire. Downstaris it ran a restaurant and ice cream palor. Rooms were $1.50/day. E.J.Swanson was the proprietor until 1915. Then it was S.J. Smith. The ledger says Trace P. Clow is the manager. The ledger was found in a cottage on Lakeside that he owned. On May 29, 1917, the Coleman Band from Union City stayed there. A newspaper article about the band from 1979 is included. |
