China head doll, 24 inches, that belonged to Laura (Wermeling) Eaton. She was the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Fry) Wermeling who had a dairy farm on Old State Road. Laura was born October 31, 1882. She had 3 brothers - George (1878), Perry (1879) and Floyd (1884). The doll is wearing baptismal clothes worn by the children. Laura married Jack Eaton in 1903. Large wooden sign that says "JOYLAND." James Beerbower operated a dance hall of this name in the 1930's. All the wood came from the property. The hardwood floors were used for dancing and rollerskating. The panels on the walls were black walnut. It was used until the early 1970's but was demolished. The sign is all that is left.
